A Very Busy Day

What a day! It was Levi's last day on his expedition in Denver, but my first entirely whole day with the kids by myself (at least lately). My awesome sister, Kaela, was here the first two days to watch them while I was in class and then helped out a lot the rest of the day. It was kind of nice to have an entire day for just me and the kids, though. We had a lot to do...

First, we ran errands that included the post office, the dollar store, Wal-Mart, a quick Powerade pick-up from McDonald's, and finally Walgreens. All before nap time :) They had a great nap! Afterward we had much planned...

We cut up pipe cleaners, put them in a plastic bottle, and moved them around with a magnet...

We made Daddy's Father's Day card...

We walked to G's Dairy for some huckleberry ice cream, which Lucas loves :)...

We then tried making a lava lamp, but it didn't work out quite right :S maybe a smaller bottle next time?...

Then we made silly putty which did turn out GREAT!...

...Except Lucas wouldn't touch it! He hates touching cold/wet/slimy things of any sort.

But he loved tub painting!! Shaving cream and food coloring...

And we also decorated the doorway :)

Lucas also signed "potty" this morning and made a successful pee into it! No such luck the rest of the day haha!

At the end of the day, after errands and crafts and ice cream and walks and messes and bath time and jammies... we finished the day off by reading The Very Busy Spider :) It definitely was a very busy, very fun day together!! Oh, Via pretty much just sat and watched everything ;)
